12/27/2023 0 Comments Lisa frank pencil caseI want to take each sheet out and frame it! All the messages are so perfectly positive, and beautifully crafted! I couldn’t believe she even included a little “Inspiration Book”. On top of that, look at all the goodies she included! That keychain is totally making its way onto my key ring! There was tea in the bottom pocket too, but I shared it with Sean at the office. The ‘dangley’ swan-heart is too cute – it hung from a barrette and was tied with a ribbon with plastic beads at the end. I especially loved all the details she added. That maybe she hadn’t made it to the UK? You could never tell that from the letter that she sent – CJ, you hit it right on the mark! From the rainbow cheetah print, to the black accents, to the glitter – it’s everything I ever hoped for! She must know me! With all the glitter paper she used and the unicorn in the middle… it’s kind of my all my dreams come true!ĬJ mentioned before she sent it that before this swap, she was unfamiliar with Lisa Frank. It really sent my postal worker for a loop when I tried to mail that! To England, nonetheless! Although I loved the letter I sent, what my swap partner CJ sent me in return was even more amazing! I found these super holographic bling at Dollar General – they’re really cool with tons of depth – they kind of remind me of mood rings, which fit right in to the elementary psychedelic aesthetic!Īnd as for not knowing how to use up all that holographic paper I found in my stash? Well, I found a way…. I loved being able to include so many goodies though. Right on the heels of reading that, I was asked by the host to be an ‘angel’ (to create another Lisa Frank letter to swap with someone whose partner bailed.) Of course I accepted, but it’s with a heavy heart that I’m creating the next letter, and never look at those adorable puppies the same way again. it wasn’t until I finished up my letter that I came across this article. Hence my Matisse quote about creativity takes courage…. You have to be brave (or somewhat crazy) to design like Lisa Frank did. I had almost finished the letter when I came across the holographic sticker paper(!) I didn’t realize I had in my stash! Immediately, I started adding it everywhere I could! At one point I told Kevin, very concernedly: “I just can’t figure out how to add any more holographic paper!” to which he made a joke about ‘first world problems.’ Isn’t it just magnificent? I might’ve lied when I said the autumn pocket letter I posted yesterday was my favorite. He really picked up on that one, and now he refers to them as “Babe stickers.” Oy. I shared them after I made my letter and off-handedly commented on how she illustrated some ‘biker babes’. Ummmm… well, at least he’s still to little to call me out on it. The funniest part was when I brought them home and Alex wanted them, and I had to explain they were ‘Mommy’s grown-up stickers’. So of course I had to hit up our neighborhood Dollar General to stock up on all the Lisa Frank stickers I could fit in my basket. (There would be a lot of cupcakes there, too.)įast forward almost 30 years, and there just happens to be a Pocket Letter event themed “Lisa Frank Swap”. I thought (and part of me still does) that the rainbow-maned unicorn would someday, somehow, come to life and sweep me away into a magical land of happy beauty. She was my idol – from the rainbow spotted snow leopards to the adorable winged kittens – everything she made, I held sacred in its awesomeness. My light up LA Gear sneakers (in Black & florescent pink) and my Lisa Frank Trapper keeper were my two most prized possessions… with my Lisa Frank pencil case coming in a close third.
